EDITORIAL STANDARDS

Our standard is evidence, not certainty by assertion.

Primary-source inspection, explicit uncertainty and a traceable corrections process guide this independent publication.

Research cutoff: October 18, 2026 · Independent source research · Interim findings are not legal advice

How to read this publication

Treaty history and land use intersect multiple legal systems. A defensible summary must distinguish what the record states, what a court actually held, what a party argues, and what remains unverified.

Research notes are written as limited, dated summaries. They are not presented as comprehensive legal advice, title abstracts or professional surveys.

Legal and parcel discipline

Different records answer different questions.

Deeds and title

A recorded conveyance may document a transaction; the full chain of title and any restrictions require separate confirmation.

Tax and mapping data

Tax parcels and GIS shapes are useful orientation tools, but neither independently proves federal land status or sovereign jurisdiction.

Courts and agencies

Pleadings are party positions. Decisions have holdings and defined scopes. A docket summary can omit subsequent activity.

Quality assurance

A controlled editorial release

  2. State the proposition and classify the evidence.
  3. Check subsequent history, contrary authority and research cutoff.
  4. Review terminology, rights and unauthorized information exposure.
  5. Publish selected material only after approval for the specific release.
  6. Maintain dated revisions and explain material corrections.

Corrections and challenges

Readers are encouraged to identify the passage in question, supply reliable counterevidence and explain its significance.
